Our Story
Damai Service Hospital (HQ) began its journey in 1981 in the old Bank Rakyat building on Jalan Ipoh, where we operated from two simple floors focused on deliveries and minor procedures. Those early years were guided by the vision of our founder, Dato’ Dr. Guna Sittampalam, who believed in making quality healthcare accessible to the community. As the needs of our patients grew, we moved to our present location at No. 109 Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in 1995, expanding our space and strengthening our role as a neighbourhood hospital. Over the decades, we have continued to introduce new services, including the establishment of Concept Fertility Centre in 2002, and we remain grounded in the same community that has supported us for more than forty years.
Our Purpose
Our purpose has always been centred on providing safe, ethical, and dependable care for individuals and families. We aim to support our patients through different stages of life, whether through general healthcare services or specialised care offered across our clinical departments. Every improvement we make — from adopting digital medical records to upgrading medical equipment — reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our services remain relevant and responsive to the needs of our community. Looking ahead, we are focused on continuing our journey of growth and modernization. Recent developments such as our Origin Electronic Medical Records, Apollo Radiology telereporting, and upcoming Origin queue management systems represent our direction for the future — thoughtful upgrades that support smoother processes and better service delivery. We are also investing in new technologies, facilities, and infrastructure to ensure that our hospital continues to evolve in line with current healthcare standards. Our future is shaped by the same philosophy that has guided us from the start: to grow responsibly, improve continuously, and provide a hospital environment where our community can always feel supported and cared for.
