Dr Roshita Omar is a distinguished medical practitioner who earned her medical degree from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in September 1995. She began her career with a year of housemanship at Kuala Lumpur General Hospital in 1996, then served for three years as a Medical Officer in the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department.
During this period, she completed several professional development courses: Basic Life Support (BLS) in March 1998; Malaysian Trauma and Life Support (MTLS) in March–April 1998; a Wound Management Workshop in April 1999; and One Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC) training in May 1999.
Dr Roshita also coordinated and facilitated First Responder Life Support (FRLS) courses, training medical students, SMART teams, and private-sector groups. In addition, she provided emergency medical standby for visiting dignitaries during official visits and meetings.
